A Fruitful Day - Graduate Student Thesis Defense of Our Research Group

June 5th is a harvest day for the research team in 2020. Today, we take part in the graduation thesis defense of Dr. Chenglong Liu and Master Lei Zhang. Due to the impact of the COVID-19, we held a unique thesis defense. We learned the thesis defense of Mr. Liu and Mr. Zhang through the Tencent Conference Room. 

At 8:30 a.m., Professor Patrick Wong, chairman of the Thesis Defense Committee, announced the opening of the thesis defense. We are honored to invite Prof. Patrick Wong of CityU, Prof. Chenhui Zhang of Tsinghua University, Prof. Zhengxu Zhao, Prof. Shufeng Sun and Prof. Youqiang Wang of QUT to the thesis defense. Dr. Xiaohan Zhang serves as the thesis defense secretary. The thesis defended by Dr. Liu is entitled " STUDY ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF FILM THICKNESS AND REGULATION OF SURFACE SELF-REPLENISHMENT UNDER LIMITED LUBRICANT SUPPLY ". Dr. Liu accurately explained his research during his doctoral period with detailed and complete data, which made us understand his report clearly. After the report, members of the Thesis Defense Committee asked some questions and made excellent comments on Dr. Liu's report. Finally, Dr. Liu make a summary speech on his doctoral study. At the same time, Mr. Feng Guo gives high recognition to Dr. Liu.

At 2:30 p.m., Master Zhang defended his master's thesis, entitled "EFFECT OF BASE OIL ON THE PERFORMANCE OF HIGH-SPEED ROLLING BEARING WITH OIL-AIR LUBRICATION". Prof. Peiqi Ge from Shandong University is invited as the chairman of the Thesis Defense Committee. Master Zhang's graduation defense is vivid, simple but profound, complete and rhythmic. After the report, the experts of the Thesis Defense Committee also put forward corresponding questions and provide valuable suggestions for the perfection of the thesis.

Finally, congratulations to Dr. Liu and Master Zhang for successfully passing the graduation thesis defense and starting the new journey. As time goes by, graduation season has come again. May we face the future, forget the past and grasp the time!
